In Urbana, Illinois, amidst the cornfields and the college campus sits a house iconic to fans of emo music, particularly fans of American Football. A photo of the house can be seen on the cover of their self-titled 1999 album. The band announced today (May 5) that they have successfully purchased the house seen on the front cover of their iconic 1999 self-titled debut album. But as the record started to gain a cult-like following a few years later, the house became its biggest mascot. Joining American Football in the sale were their label Polyvinyl along with Chris Strong, Atiba Jefferson, and Open House Contemporary.

High Street house facade for their album cover, they've come full circle joining with some of the other key players from their history to purchase the home. Interestingly enough, none of the band's members lived in the house at the time of the recording, with the group feeling that the house that was a "friend of friends" place perhaps capturing the vibe of their record.
